Oxford Karate Academy

Shihan Paul Coleman

We are devastated to announce the death of our beloved Shihan Paul Coleman, after a very long illness, on 31 August 2023.  Shihan passed away very peacefully in Katharine House Hospice, near Banbury, surrounded by his loving family and friends.  He is survived by his sons Aaron and Blade, his daughter Orla-Rose, and his daughter in law, Abbie, as well as his brother Roy, and extended family.  He is also mourned by his students and friends in Oxford and around the world.

In accordance with his wishes, Oxford Karate Academy continues, and we will continue to run the dojo in the way that he would have wished.  Classes will be led by Senseis Joe Bennett and Hkanhpa Sadan, assisted by other senior students.

Classes are currently taking place at Risinghurst on Tuesdays at 6pm and Wednesdays at 6.30pm, as well as at the Berinsfield dojo on Fridays at 6.30pm and Sundays at 11.00 for beginners and 12.00 for green belt (6th kyu) and upwards.
