What is tenacity?

What is tenacity?

For me it is persistence, pertinacity, determination, self-discipline, perseverance, doggedness, tenaciousness, single-mindedness, strength of will, firmness of purpose, strength of purpose, fixity of purpose, bulldog spirit, tirelessness, indefatigability, resolution, resoluteness, resolve, firmness, patience, purposefulness, staunchness, steadfastness, constancy, staying power, application, self-motivation, diligence.

The best students have the same qualities and this is why they can become the next generation of instructors.

Preparing for your next belt in Karate

Posted: February 15, 2021

Belt tests create excitement, expectations, worries, etc. and should be seen as a challenge. A grade exam is a measure of your competence, character and regular commitment. Regular attendance is hopefully twice weekly minimum.

To pass, you must be firmly convinced of where you are in your ability to pass. Your instructor must be confident, that you are fully capable and prepared.

The time between belts is a guideline. You may not be ready, therefore set more time to be properly prepared.

Positive Changes

One of the greatest joys of teaching, is to see positive changes in people.

Often we have children who are victims of bullying.

Bullying can occur under a variety of guises.  It might include name calling, mocking, teasing, being hurtful to someone, ignoring them or hurting them, letting down their bicycle tyres, damaging their property, insults about their family, unpleasant comments about their religion, colour, creed or social standing, the list is immense. It can also happen at anytime – in person, online, on the phone, in class at school, at university or college, in the workplace, at a bus stop are on the bus, mayne a family member, whaich includes cousins, nephews, unlcles, aunties etc and not just immediate family. Maybe it happens in your neighborhood or even in your own home.
